Detailed Itinerary

Day 1: Bagdogra/NJP To Phuntsholing(165 kms)

Receive from Bagdogra Airport and Transfers to Phuntsholing. Doimmigration formalities, take rest or visit local market.

Dinner and overnight stay in Phuntsholing,

Day 2: Phuntsholing –Thimpu(165 kms)

Morning have breakfast and start journey to Thimpu on the way visiting the Crocodile Zoo & Lhakangon the way at Rinchending.

Do sightseeing on the way and have lunch. Reach hotel take restand evening visit local market. (Note- in case the permits were not obtainedearlier- it will have to be obtained today to proceed further.)

Day-3:Thimphu sightseeing

After breakfast visit Kuensel Phodrang (Buddha Statue), NationalMemorial Chorten (Monument) and FolkHeritage Museum. Afternoon visit Changangkha Lhakhang, TakingPreserve Centre, the national animal of Bhutan can be seen here.

Dinner and Overnight stay at Thimpu.

(In case you need to see Punakha- you canobtain the necessary permit today or the following day).

Day -4 Thimpu-Punakha(85 kms)

Morning breakfast and start journey to sightseeing of Punakha Dzong and see the old lhakangs after sightseen have lunch and move to Punakha. On the wayvisit Dochula pass.

Arrive at Punakha and take rest in hotel..

Day-5: Punakha sightseeing and move to Paro (125kms)

Morning have breakfast and start journey to Paro.

Do sightseeing on the way and have lunch. Reach hotel take restand evening visit local market.

Visit Kyichu Lhakhang &Taktsang Monastery – called “TigersNest “and visit Drukgyel Dzongon the same day or it can be done on the next day since it’s a very tiring trekto Thaksang Monastery.

Day-6: Paro Local

Morning have breakfast the day is at Leisure or to visit theThanksang Monastery.

Start early to hike to Taktshang Monastery (Tiger Nest) which is 3000ft from sea level. You are advised to carry some food items and water while going there.

Enjoy the day with hike and beautiful views. Take a drop to hotel

Last day in Bhutan, hence, you can spend shopping or visiting the local market.

Dinner and overnight at Paro.

Day-7: Paro to Bagdogra/NJP (325 kms)| Paro to Phunt sholing(160 kms)

Early morning by 5:00 am check out and depart for Bagdogra/NJPor Phunt sholing. (BF will have to be skipped you are travelling up to Bagdogra.

Trip concludes with a drop at Bagdogra Airport/NJP or Phunts holing/Jai gaon.

The rich culture & heritage of Bhutan is another area where one can take pridein learning.

The Kira is the national dress for women in Bhutan. It is an ankle-length dress consisting of a rectangular piece of woven fabric. It is wrapped and folded around the body and is pinned at both shoulders, usually with silver broaches, and bound at the waist with a long belt which is known as a Kera. The Kira is usually worn with a long-sleeved blouse inside known as Wonju and a short jacket or Tego. The men wear aknee-length robe called the Gho tied at the waist by a cloth belt known as the Kera.


· Currency notes: Indian currencies are at parvalue at Bhutan. Preferred denominations are below Rs 100- though recently Rs.500 denominations are also accepted.

· Food is lessspicy, but hot. Bhutanese like their food in hot chilies.

· Bhutan is cold place, make sure you have some warm clothes and cold cream.
